2018 Dive Season in Review - Segment 2

Updated: Sep 17, 2024

On the Road Again - Tobermory, Ontario, Canada

The BTI Dive Team travelled to Tobermory, Ontario, Canada for our season kick-off dives. We decided to pass on the charter boats this weekend because the water temperature was 43 degrees F and our expectations were that the bottom time would be 15 to 20 minutes with our wet suits in this cooler weather.

Adventure Sports Newmarket (ASN) were observed braving the weather and launching their charter boat in the Tobermory Marina. We will be joining them for a charter this Summer.

We did enjoy two shore dives for our equipment checkout at the Tugs (Wreck of some Tug Boats in Tobermory, Ontario).

Our second day of shore diving, we enjoyed two sport dives at the Tobermory, Ontario Lighthouse.

We enjoyed this long weekend camping at the Lands End Park, Tobermory. The showers were great and the water hot. Very much appreciated. http://www.landsendpark.com/

BTI Dive Team Members, time to budget for dry suit acquisitions? The upcoming North Atlantic and Arctic Waters Expeditions will be brisk.
