50.2.1 Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
Presently, the PEO is a volunteer self regulating organization made up of members that have worked or do work for the large Municipal Engineering Consulting Firms who have close ties and conflicts of interest.
Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) have not revoked Mr. David Ohashi, P.Eng.’s professional licence despite Mr. Ohashi, P.Eng. being a now a convicted criminal for many years.
Multiple communications/complaints have been made over many years.
Requests for PEO Investigator(s)/PEO to inform Police of criminal activity were ignored. Crimes may have been prevented but were not.
If irrefutable proof is presented to the present PEO Investigators and/or criminal judgements, they still may just choose not to do anything. Blatant failures: conflict of interest, due process, conduct and professionalism.
If a complaint is filed, do not expect the PEO Investigators to do anything to help you because of laziness, lack of ability and/or training, conflict of interests, etc.
Blacklisting of Licensed Professional Engineers(s) have occurred in Ontario.
The present system is geared to prevent fair access and competition to competent engineering companies and the free flow of labour and professional services in Ontario.
The Public Interest is not being Served or Protected.
Plus, millions of dollars in damages and injuries.

50.2.2 The Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) will cease to be a volunteer based self-regulating body for the profession.
A legislated government agency will take over the complete operation of Regulation, Investigation and Enforcement with respect to the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
Complete with Professional fulltime staff.
Properly trained unbiased investigators with in-house liaison with Canadian Police Agencies such as the O.P.P., RCMP, CSIS etc.

50.2.3 To this point, I believe it is outrageous that the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) have not revoked Mr. David Ohashi, P.Eng.’s professional licence.
A past PEO President and Councilor once stated, ‘Is the PEO going to let Mr. Ohashi stamp drawings from his prison cell?’
Given that the standard for the burden of proof is the highest in criminal court and that Mr. Ohashi is now a convicted Criminal.
Why has this not happened?
There have been multiple complaints made.
The past president shed some light on this, The PEO is a volunteer organization made of members that have worked or do work for the large Municipal Engineering Consulting Firms who have close ties.
I questioned: “What if irrefutable proof is presented”
Reply, they still may just choose not to do anything.
In my opinion, this is a blatant conflict of interest!
Further, if you file a complaint do not expect the PEO Investigators to do anything to help you.
It does provide a segway to why the system is geared to prevent fair access and competition to competent engineering companies and the free flow of labour, professional services in Ontario.
It is not too late for the PEO to Demonstrate Professionalism, Reason and Due Diligence!
